Lou Reed Memorial Exhibition

Ken Hamazaki Red Museum

This event has ended.

Velvet Underground member Lou Reed, who passed away last year, worked actively on the forefront of music that ranged from rock to the avant garde. He was also known for his collaborations with visual artists, exemplified by the image of a banana drawn by Andy Warhol that appeared on one of the band’s album covers. His influence extended beyond music, impacting on poets and artists to an immeasurable degree. He continuously evolved as an artist, refusing to give in to nostalgia by playing old versions of songs at live shows. This exhibition is a memorial and homage to the life of Lou Reed. It displays all of Reed’s albums as well as a portrait by Ken Hamazaki.
