This event has ended.
Kaori Tanaka’s works reflect a Japanese philosophy and view of nature rooted in Japanese gardens and other landscapes and spaces featuring nature altered by human beings. By depicting these places’ sometimes apparent, sometimes hidden human consciousness in vivid colors far-removed from nature, her paintings shift between the ambiguous beauties of fiction and reality and concepts and perceptions of human creation. These works depict Mt. Fuji, a place of great profundity and belief within Japan, as well as moonlight and the spirituality of landscapes.
