The 21st century has long been said to be the “Asian Age.” The continent’s art market has expanded along with its economic progress, with art fairs and exhibits presenting Asian artists in major cities like Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Taipei, and Seoul. As Asia’s art market grows and becomes increasingly global, giving the world works of value is an important issue. The second Asian Realism exhibition introduces the realist movement in Asia with works by seven artists currently active in Japan, Taiwan, and Korea.
