“Heart Market” is Mitsuko Koizumi’s second solo show at Contemporary Art Gallery Zone. Her emphasis is on the importance of the heart in making the artwork. To Koizumi, the work born from her simple actions do not reach the height of the fine arts, but travels in a parallel direction. The root of this alternative dimension is not the object; it is the heart. This artwork series comes from a process started at the end of last year, whereby two works are created from one act.
Ready-made objects are often used to convey a narrative and these are exhibited alongside various canvas works, with the idea that the canvas is also one type of ready-made.
