This event has ended.

In the sedate paintings of Shiga-born Yuki Ogura (1895), female figures wearing kimonos create a sense of stillness typical of Nihonga and clearly adhere to the conventions established by such Nihonga masters as her teacher, Yukihiko Yasuda. However Ogura played an important role in breaking down some of the barriers between Nihonga and Western art with her startling compositions and everyday themes. This exhibition of modern Japanese painting presents the work of these two artists, Yuki Ogura and Yukihiko Yasuda, alongside data collected by historical researcher and art collector Yotaro Mizuki.
