This event has ended.

Saburo Ota has been collecting seeds on a daily basis since January 1st, 1995 in an effort to hold on to the places, times, and memories of each day. For his “Seed Project” series, he continues to create sewn seed pouches of Japanese paper with the date and place printed on them.

Part 1 of this exhibition presents Ota’s new “Seed Plant” series, a visual guide to plants and their seeds. Part 2 focuses on “Seed Project from Kyoto,” displaying seeds he found near the gallery and around Kyoto between autumn 2013 and summer 2014 as part of his life’s work, “Seed Project.”
