Shuma Shibata “Permeate”

Mori Yu Gallery Kyoto

poster for Shuma Shibata “Permeate”

This event has ended.

These paintings were made within set time frames. Expressing the relationships between “symbol” and “place”, these works feature large amounts of paint that have been layered and left to dry in parts representing “place”. The artist also limited the use of color to emphasize the movement of the brush and the thickness of the paint. The purpose of this process is to investigate a notion of time that cannot be digitalized.
