This event has ended.

The Taisho-era writer Akiko Yosano’s career as children’s author is not widely known by the general public. Her children’s stories, written in the hopes of raising her own children in a pure, open-hearted, and optimistic way, pull readers into their free-spirited worlds. These works, gifts to all of us and our children, still resonate today. With a focus on stories published in magazines for women and girls, this exhibition presents around sixty examples of Yosano’s children’s literature, including her notes for the character “Bun-chan”, who frequently appears in her stories.
