Alfons Maria Mucha began his career as an illustrator by coloring stories, producing highly original works that demonstrated a profound understanding of the texts. He later incorporated this “Mucha style” in his design and decorative work, in which he continued to pursue expressions of visual beauty. This exhibition focuses on illustrations Mucha colored for stories based on both literature and historical facts.
