An exhibition that focuses on six “nihonga” (Japanese-style painting) artists: Shoen Uemura, Suisho Nishiyama, Heihachiro Fukuda, Shinsen Tokuoka, Kayo Yamaguchi, and Insho Domoto, who were active during the Meiji, Taisho and Showa periods in the Kyoto “gadan” (art circle) and whose distinguished careers earned them the “Bunka kunshō” (Order of Culture).
