Artist’s statement: What we see at first glace and upon closer inspection can be the same or completely different. When we have never seen something with our own eyes, for a moment it can be hard to comprehend. We cannot experience the sound or scent of what we know only through photographs, rendering this information forever immobile through the processes of sight alone. These subjects are in fact changing constantly at invisible speeds, but we cannot know of these great transformations. When we look closely and stretch our imaginations, what is contained within and what moves freely overlap in different vectors. I wanted to know these moments for myself and make paintings of them.
