This event has ended.
One of the few Japanese cameramen to photograph war zones, Bunyo Ishikawa accompanied South Vietnamese and U.S. troops immediately after the Gulf of Tonkin Incident of 1964, producing many photographs conveying the realities of the war. His works, part of the museum’s permanent collection, retain their power to shock and raise questions about the nature of war. 2014 marks the 50th anniversary of Ishikawa’s first trip to Vietnam, presenting the opportunity to reexamine his works and reflect on 50 years of war and peace in Vietnam.
