Seiji Togo’s Paintings and Sculptures
Asago Art Village
This event has ended.
The Taisho and Showa era artist Seiji Togo, who painted portraits of women with gentle curving lines and soft color tones, became enormously popular for his elegant, endearing, and unique style. Introducing works spanning the artist’s career, from major female portraits to sculptures from his later years, this exhibition also presents works by Yumeji Takehisa and Toshio Doi, who were greatly influenced by Togo’s paintings and sculptures, respectively. These comparisons allow for a greater understanding of Togo’s art.
