The architect Junzo Yoshimura (1908–1997) is known for his original style of modernism incorporating elements of the traditions and natural environments of Japan. This exhibition introducing the beauty of Yoshimura’s ideals of living space spotlights his wooden architecture, with a focus on his houses. Through hand-drawn sketches, photo panels, architectural models, and blueprints, it presents some of Yoshimura’s major works, including “Karuizawa Mountain Villa (Yoshimura House)” “Karuizawa Moutain Villa (Yoshimura House)”, and Sanrizuka Church, his only church project.
