An encounter with an animal of white coloring, such as a white deer or a white snake, is seen to represent luck and fortune. Similarly, a phoenix or a giraffe is a symbol of good omen, and are popular motifs in Japanese culture. This exhibition will bring together these animals with a variety of traditional artwork such as hanging scrolls and handicraft goods.
