Vol.45 The Exhibition of Pottery for Sake
Utsuwa Kyoto Yamahon
This event has ended.
An exhibition displaying drinking vessels for Japanese sake, made by leading ceramicists and the ceramicists who trained under them. The sake drinking vessel is unique in that its use is limited, unlike plates and bowls which can enjoy multiple uses. As eating habits and lifestyles change, so do the accompanying customs and vessel shapes. This exhibition introduces this fine art of pottery for sake, a beverage which has seen a sharp decline in interest from younger people in recent years.
