Kamigata Ukiyoe Museum gives special position to the edo period ukiyo-e prints of Osaka, characterized by vivid depictions of Dotonbori Kabuki actors, conjuring images of the Edo stage. Many of the kabuki tales depicted historic events filled with samurai warriors and ukiyo-e prints are filled with their forms decked out in armor, swords, bows and arrows in all manner of colorful arrays as detailed here in this exhibition.
