Galerie Ashiya Schule is pleased to present “A Green Mass”, an exhibition of new works by Ena Nagao. Nagao, born in Kyoto in 1980, graduated from Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts, majoring in sculpture. Though she continues to work mainly in Kyoto, her heartwarming wooden sculptures have been highly regarded for their purity and originality inside and outside of Japan, with accomplishments such as the 17th Taro Award exhibition by Taro Okamoto Museum and Young Art Taipei 2014. Her works represent power and peace simultaneously.
The source of Nagao’s creativity consists of two parts: attempts to indicate the universality of daily life and the desire to shake superficial trends.
