Kamigata Ukiyoe Museum - Museum of Osaka Prints
This event has ended.
The ukiyo-e of Osaka was filled with images of kabuki scenes, building a wide appreciation of the various costumes and guises of the actors and gaining popular interest amongst common people. This exhibition pays particular attention to the various patterns observed amongst the dress of the kabuki performers, particularly the pattern of stripe which was a symbol of townspeople at the time and is revealed here in a range of variations.
