Songs can change the way we see things, or transform them into something else entirely. Stirred by this lovely impulse, everything from people to birds to insects feels compelled to sing. Sad, pure, calm, and sonorous, songs pull at our heartstrings. Quiet and despondent, straining and screaming, we fill our songs with sadness and prayer. Today is sure to be another day in which the world overflows with the many colors of song.
