Collection Exhibition: Edo Woodblock Print Books and the “Hyakki Yagyou” Picture Scrolls
Osaka Municipal Museum of Art
This event has ended.
The flourishing of publishing culture in the late Edo period saw the creation of many kinds of woodblock-printed books, which often contained professional illustrations. Along with the picture scrolls “Hyakki Yagyou” (Night-Time Monster Scenes) from the museum’s collection, several spooky yet interesting woodblock print books are on display.
