Artist Kenji Nakamura, selected for the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition and the recipient of numerous awards, features people, landscapes, nature, and other elements of his surroundings as motifs in his works. Paintings from his travels in Europe in recent years with a focus on the French suburb of Vézelay are on display. From large to small works, these paintings evoke both lyricism and excitement in their portrayals of international encounters between people, the atmospheres of spiritual and tranquil towns, and the interchange of spontaneity and inevitability in nature.
