This event has ended.

The late-Edo era was a time of great change and excitement for Japan and the world, with a number of highly original Japanese artists emerging from this stimulating culture. These creative figures included Jakuchu Ito, who continues to captivate contemporary viewers, Taiga Ikeno, considered the master of Japanese Southern School painting, and Roen Hayashi, a Chinese-style painter active in Osaka. This exhibition introduces early-modern masterpieces by these artists and others.
