This event has ended.

Kyoto-born Soga Shohaku (1730–1781) was a Japanese painter of the Edo period. Shohaku distinguished himself from his contemporaries by preferring the brush style of the Muromachi period, an aesthetic that was already passé 150 years before his birth. Shohaku’s life is full of questions and this is an opportunity to explore the work of an artist who has been painting since his teens.
First half: Aug.23-Sept.15. Second half: Sept.17-Oct.13. Some of the exhibited works will be changed during the period of the exhibition.
