Hokkaido born Miyoko Ochiai studied ceramics under Osamu Suzuki and established her own studio on the West coast of Lake Biwa in 1977. She is currently a member of the Japan Kogei Association for craft. In this exhibition she showcases a range of urns, vases, bowls and other works taking the motifs of nature, landscapes and living things drawing on Chinese ceramic techniques of white lines on black glaze amongst other glazing approaches.
