Hwagak (Decorations with Picture Sheets of Ox Horn) and Traditional Korean Woodwork Art
Koryo Museum of Art
This event has ended.
This exhibition introduces the special furniture contained within men and women’s rooms during Korea’s Joseon period (1392–1910). “Mokko” was simple wooden furniture favored by male literary types, while hwagak (kakaku) fittings for women featured gorgeous pictures painted onto ox horn. The production processes for both are described.
