Based in Osaka, Japan, painter/performance artist Tamuragrea creates surrealist oil paintings that explore her deep and stirring emotions. Her canvases are full of dream-like imagery in which living forms are combined to create new creatures and beings that inhabit a world that is tempestuous and dark at times and mysterious at others. Working traditionally on larger formats, the figures she paints are often life-size, confronting the viewer to look deeper and in more detail at the world being presented.
