Pursuing and championing “Kiuchiism,” a self-coined phrase for his own philosophy, Takashi Kiuchi has produced paintings, sculpture, film, performance art, and other works. Not bound by methods or materials, his diverse works are made to fit a range of objectives in artistic expression. As extensions of his own interests, concerns, attachments, and delusions, his works also take aim and find humor in the contradictions and problems of institutions such as society and art, as well as our communities. This exhibition presents his new creations. A show of Kiuchi’s previous works will be held simultaneously at Osaka’s Gallery Wks.
