This event has ended.
The Ikedaya Incident, also known as the Ikedaya Affair, was an armed raid launched by the Shinsengumi (a special police force organized by the Bakufu) against anti-shogunate rebels (Imperial loyalists) gathered at the Ikedaya, an inn in Kyoto, in June and July 1864. 150 years since this incident, the thoughts and movements of the Shinsengumi are explored in this exhibition.
