Takashi Nemotohas has deep thoughts on records and their jacket covers. He redraws classic covers from rock and soul history according to his own interpretations, seeking out new expressions. For many years he has kept prices low so that fans without much disposable income can afford to purchase his works, to the extent that he sometimes gets complaints from others within the industry. Tokyo Kirakira will finally publish a collection of his jacket designs in book form after missed deadlines, a personality trait of Nemoto’s, who views art for commerce and earning a living as a trap. Nemoto will be at the gallery from Jun. 20 (Fri) through Jun. 22 (Sun).
