Art critic Takumi Noguchi has organized numerous exhibitions and events both individually and as part of the unit “Yoha Public”, with Ryota Kanezaki, while at the same time writing various critical essays on contemporary artists of his own generation. In this exhibition brought together under his direction he questions our current state of bewildered stumbling as we still appear to aim for our “destination”. And yet while we may blindly accept like a child the existence of this singular destination, it appears we are caught in a contemporary condition where where we have lost all sight of this, where upon we are increasingly urged to affirm our “current location”. This exhibition takes this condition as its starting point and brings together 4 artists working across very different ideas, techniques and mediums, while each displays a strong rootedness in their current location, with a trail which confirms where they have come from and the trajectory which they have taken, proving to be unswerving in the labyrinth of contemporary art.
