This event has ended.

Displaying some 30 paintings by Tom Christopher, including new works. With luminous colors and bold brushwork, Christopher depicts New York City in real time with an original perspective. From skyscrapers and yellow cabs to bike messengers and unique individuals commingling at intersections, his paintings reflect the city’s bustling activity within its dazzling diffusion of lights— a special mixture of the natural and artificial light. While based in realism, his works feature somewhat unnatural colors and a wavering perspective with a slight penchant for distortion, an effect that vividly expresses both the city’s uneasy sense of tension and its true beauty as a vibrant place in pursuit of dreams.
