Displaying the works of the Living National Treasure Fukumi Shimura, who uses natural plant dyes to color the threads of her vibrant handloom weavings. In addition to some 60 works spanning Shimura’s career, the exhibition also presents masterpieces by other artists with ties to Shimura, including the lacquer artist Tatsuaki Kuroda and the ceramicist Kenkichi Tomimoto.
