Originally an art restorer, 1955 born Misao Shimizu became the student of Nihonga painter Ikuo Hirayama, most famous for his other-worldy Silk Road landscapes. Shimizu has become highly-acclaimed for his ability to reveal the depth of the Nihonga genre. This exhibition features his delicately-rendered paintings of scenes from the Okinawan islands.
