Through dialogues between exhibition spaces and materials, the works of Anna Yamanishi extract the properties that exist or lie dormant within both. Her “Untitled” series (2013) features intertwining grains of wood that wholly resemble applied patterns and take on “tied,” “twisted,” and “warped” forms, containing a spiritual beauty that renounces ornamentation to the utmost degree. New works, including those using materials other than wood, are on display.
