This event has ended.

The Takarazuka doctor Seiitsu Shimizu (1923–2005) studied calligraphy under Kosho Shimizu at Todaiji Temple, and many of the works of these two men compliment each other. While Kosho’ calligraphy has a briskness to it, the appeal of Seiitsu’s lies in its ability to calm the viewer with its gentle brushwork. This exhibition focuses on the work and relationship of these two artists, with 180 examples of their calligraphy.
