Akira Kurosaki
This event has ended.
Akira Kurosaki (born in 1937 and living in Kyoto) has a wide spectrum of techniques and styles. Known for his abstract images, Kurosaki has cultivated an innovative wood-block print expression which revives the technology and soul of the ukiyoe print.
His new series “Man’yo” (“Ten Thousand Leaves”) is based on the oldest existing collection of Japanese poetry, and this exhibition presents ten works from the songs of “Omi” and “Yamato,” old provinces in Japan. A selection of paper works and other print works are also on show, totaling around 35 pieces.
