A collection of paintings by Kagaku Murakami and Hako Irie from the Taisho period to the early Showa period. Noted for his numerous spiritual Buddhist subjects, Murakami was a leading representative of modern nihonga (Japanese-style) painting. As a professor of his alma mater, painter Hako Irie engaged in copying old paintings and devoted himself to the study of classics. 16 pieces by Kagaku Murakami and 11 pieces by Hako Irie are introduced in this exhibition.
