Kunio Sato is an Osaka-based artist known for his anthropomorphic animals, which have appeared on posters for public organizations and calendars. Borrowing the expressions and gestures of human beings, these cute and humorous animals are loved by children and adults of all ages. Just like looking at a memorial picture album, his works give viewers warm feelings. This extensive exhibition presents around 200 illustrations spanning Sato’s career, from his early to latest works, as well as idea sketches and nostalgia-inducing prints.
