The Embassy of Israel in Japan, together with the generous help of Kyoto Art Center and Kyoto City, launch a project in which Japanese public can be acquainted with Music, Art, Design, Dance, History and Daily Life of Israelis and the city of Jerusalem in particular. Both Jerusalem and Kyoto city share similar characteristics – an old capital, ancient wisdom, sacred places, tourism, high quality of academic institutions and a unique coexistence between contemporary and traditional living practices.
The festival would include the following elements: A welcome hub which consists of a relaxation area, a Mediterranean style coffee serving as part of a unique design project, a photobook library, catalogues and shop corner hosted by the Israel Museum, talk event and a calligraphy and photography exhibition. The event will also include dance and music performances in which Japanese and Israeli performers will collaborate. The venues will serve as a meeting place for new encounters and exchange of opinions.
