The Kuroda Family ruled as vassal lords of the Chikuzen Province (where modern-day Fukuoka is located) during the mid-16th and early-17th centuries. This exhibition presents paintings, calligraphy, crafts, and other works shedding light on this period of Japanese history from the Kuroda Family Collection on loan from the Fukuoka Art Museum.
