In commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the Siege of Osaka, a series of battles undertaken by the Tokugawa shogunate against the Toyotomi clan, which ultimately ended in the clan’s destruction, this exhibition introduces Ii Naotaka’s infamous “Akazonae” - frontline troops who wore armor that had been dyed with red lacquer as a distinguishing group uniform.
