Iron is a material that normally gives us the impression of being hard, cold and heavy. Ryo Miyazaki’s series of iron pieces, “Discreature” is an attempt to turn this impression into one of soft, warm and light. The pieces are mostly formed by bundles of iron rods like muscle tissue and their forms make us imagine roots. The organic impression of the iron piece makes a positive contradiction between its form and its material.
