This posthumous exhibition commemorates 20 years since the death of Masatoshi Masanobu, a remarkable artist with strong Gutai connections but also strongly representative of postwar art history as an independent painter. Born in 1911, Masanobu participated in all Gutai
exhibitions from 1955 to 1968, introducing new materials and working within the physical expressions of action and performances. This is an opportunity to understand the works of this under-appreciated and overlooked artist.
