Graceful floral patterns decorate the pottery, as if they were lanterns gently lighting up the springtime dusk. By using an original Damascening (metal inlaying) method with natural leaves, the fresh beauty of each petal is preserved. To complement existing designs combining a white base color and red lines with pressed leaves, and “Ameyu” brown-glaze bowls, new designs of “Ai” indigo base color are featured. In addition to such everyday bowls, this exhibition features expressive creations of animal form in semi-porcelain, such as camels and the artist’s pet cats.
