This event has ended.

The artistic work of Enric Llevat (1977, Tarragona) is driven by the constant desire to experiment. His latest series comprises an exhaustive study of the line as an autonomous and compositional element resulting in a compendium of works where the line forms the fabric of the painter’s universe; captivated by the philosophy, minimalism and aesthetics of Japanese culture in particular. In these latest works, the artist shows an interest in using photography as a new support. In these works a dialog between photography as a reality and painting as an artifice is created. This generates pictorial experiences where painterly abstraction plays a crucial role. The dynamic between photograph and painting becomes a mechanism for revelation and hiding, vision and blindness, of interplay between one dimension and another; of the ambiguities created between them. Each viewer will realise a different interpretation of what is observed in these landscapes. Like Richter, Llevat wants his work to surprise the visitor, that its reading isn’t imposed by the author but rather that it is realised by the public itself.
