An exhibition delicate and refined Kyoto-style Kyo-Ningyo dolls marks the 60th anniversary of the Kyo-ningyo Commerce and Industry Cooperative. Dating back to the Heian era, these cherished dolls said to ward off misfortune have long played a deep role in the lives of Japanese people. Some, such as the Amagatsu and Hoko-shaped dolls, are thought to have had religious significance.
