Ceramics by Makimasa Imai: The Colors of Earth
Takashimaya Osaka
This event has ended.
Soil is one of the elements most familiar to us as residents of planet earth, and Japanese soil has its own unique makeup and characteristics. When fired in the kiln, it may become a clouded red or a gleaming translucent bluish white, emanating new colors while reflecting billions of years of weathered history. Infused with fresh life, Makimasa Imai’s ceramics give form to the earth of this cycle. This exhibition focuses on Imai’s works from recent years.
