Ryo Miyanaga’s video installations explore what the medium of video is and whether videos can be works of art. By repeatedly asking these questions, he produces works that are concerned less with specific subjects and more with concepts of “time” found within them. Miyanaga’s videos examine a variety of sizes and scales including resolutions, speeds, brightness, and audio frequencies conveyed as information, a characteristic that ties his body of work together.
