The Kobe Biennale is held once every two years with the dual aims of giving Kobe’s art culture a further boost and bringing vitality to the city. Hosting competitions a variety of art genres, the event is a collaboration between the city and its spaces. This year’s theme is “Suki【su:ki】”, meaning to like or love. BB Plaza Museum of Art in the “Museum Road Area”, one of multiple areas with venues hosting events, presents a two-part exhibition of 72 works by international artists based mainly in Kobe and Hyogo Prefecture. The Contemporary Ceramics Exhibition showcasing winners of the 2015 Biennale’s contemporary ceramics competition will be held Sep. 18–Nov. 23.
